Hall County's 54 inches of annual rainfall and high summer humidity create ideal conditions for wood rot and mold. Weldons uses pressure-treated lumber and composite materials rated for sustained moisture exposure, with proper drainage and ventilation built into every deck frame to protect against the wet climate.

Lake Lanier properties and rolling terrain mean uneven lot grades and challenging access. Our crew handles steep slopes, retaining walls, and multi-level deck designs that maximize usable outdoor space while managing water runoff and erosion—critical on peninsula and inlet properties.

I had my deck tore down and rebuilt by Weldon Decks in 2023. It’s still looking great and I’ve had zero problems. Looking forward to the next project.

The company does first class work. They have very good communication. They work consistently until the job is finished. They are also very proud of their work. They leave the job site clean. They have rebuilt both of my decks with traditional materials and also added composite materials for longevity. They have also removed trees. I highly recommend this company.

We highly recommend Weldon Deck Improvements. They had to replace our back upper deck completely because it was unsafe. They expanded the deck and re-built it. We couldn’t be happier. They sanded and stained the entire deck. They also had to replace our front porch steps as they were also unsafe. They re-sanded and replaced any damaged wood. And then re-stained it. We have gotten so many compliments on both decks. They are the best and nicest crew to work with too. They are great!

Deck Builder FAQ for Hall County, GA

Common questions from Hall County, GA customers about our services, process, and coverage.

Hall County receives 54 inches of rain annually and experiences high humidity during summer months. Wood exposed to this moisture without proper ventilation and drainage develops rot and mold quickly. Weldons installs pressure-treated lumber with elevated framing and composite options that resist moisture damage.

Lakeside terrain requires multi-level decks, deep pilings to handle slope, and careful grading to manage water runoff. Weldons designs decks that follow the natural grade, integrate retaining elements, and include proper drainage to prevent erosion and foundation settling.

Composite decking performs best in Hall County's wet climate—it resists mold, rot, and fading without the maintenance of wood. For traditional wood aesthetics, pressure-treated lumber with annual sealing handles the humidity. Weldons consults on both options based on your budget and maintenance preference.

Yes. Pergolas add outdoor living space to new-build and lakeside homes. Weldons designs and installs pergolas with proper drainage and wind-load engineering for North Georgia's terrain and weather patterns.
